Redmi CEO confirms company is working on a SD 855 powered phone


Xiaomi’s offshoot – the Redmi brand had earlier said this at the launch of the Redmi Note 7. And now, the company’s CEO Lu Weibing again confirmed that it was well on course to launch an affordable flagship phone. To be precise, CEO Lu Weibing today again confirmed that its company is working on a phone that will come with the flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC.

Lu made the confirmation today via a Weibo post featuring a photo of himself and some members of  its crew at the parent company’s Shenzhen R&D Institute where they had discussions on the future of the brand and its upcoming devices. He said the discussion was particularly centered on the Redmi Note 7 Pro, and the brand’s upcoming SD 855 powered phone.

Although the name of the premium phone that will get the SD 855 is not yet known, the Redmi Note 7 pro is almost a done deal as a lot has been revealed about the device. Reports say the supposed SD 855 powered Redmi phone will be priced at about $370.
