Xiaomi Co-founder shares Xiaomi Mi 9 official renders

Come February 20th, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will be flexing muscles with industry leader Samsung, as both companies will be announcing their first 2019 flagship smartphones – the Galaxy S10 and the Mi 9 respectively. Although the Xiaomi Mi 9 rumors date back to 2018, the device seems to be getting plenty of attention it deserves since the brand first commenced the launch date.

While a leak from earlier yesterday afforded us the rear and front view of the device, a new render of the device offers us the best view of the Xiaomi Mi 9 from he rear side. The render is courtesy of Xiaomi‘s own CEO, Lei Jun who took to his Weibo page to share the below renders of the upcoming Mi 9 flagship in an attempt to explain the process taken to achieve its impressive design.

Besides these renders, the Xiaomi exec also share a real-life image of the device as well as a  new official poster (above) that shows Xiaomi’s brand ambassador holding the Xiaomi Mi 9.

The renders are in sky blue, and according to the exec, the device will show off different colors of a rainbow depending on the angle and color of light that hits it. This the exec said was achieved using a nano-scale laser holography process with a double-layer coating for the finishing.

W have no official renders showcasing the front view, but a close look at these renders confirms the tripler-rear camera setup with no fingerprint sensor which makes us believe the device will be using the trendy option – the in-display fingerprint sensor.
