Mysterious Redmi Phone stars hands-on video with triple rear cameras and punch-hole display

We’ve been hearing rumors about a Redmi Phone powered by the Snapdragon 855 for quite some time, and a few days ago, the company’s GM confirmed its existence. Now, the said preferred device has allegedly popped-out in a hands-on video revealing key aspects of its design.

The video shows the front and rear of the handset. The Redmi Flagship has a punch-hole display to house the selfie camera. Unlike other devices with this design from Samsung or Huawei, this alleged Redmi smartphone has the small hole placed at the top center of the display, instead of having the hole in right or left corner. Particularly we think that this choice feels a little less intrusive and more symmetrical than the big right-placed holes of the Galaxy S10-series. If you’re already familiarized with the waterdrop notches, this one can be considered an evolution of this design.

Worth noting that the smartphone also has tiny bezels on the left and right side of the display, with slightly thicker bezels at the top and bottom part of the handset. Moving to the rear part of the handset. the Redmi flagship is equipped with a triple-rear camera setup that is accompanied by a LED flash and a fingerprint scanner. Apparently, despite having a punch-hole display, Redmi won’t be including an in-display scanner on the package. The overall look makes us wonder if the back is made of cheap glossy plastic or if it includes a premium glass build. The device also doesn’t show any Redmi branding, and it is running a very basic version of Android, that is commonly used in prototypes for testing the hardware.

While the handset in this video quite resembles Redmi and Xiaomi’s design language, we advert you to digest it with a pinch or two of salt.
