Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, recently submitted a number of new trademark applications to the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The trademark comes with names such as ARK, ARK OS, HUAWEI ARK OS, HUAWEI ARK COMPILER, HUAWEI ARK, etc., all of which include “compilers” “compiler software” and “operating systems for electronic devices”.
According to media speculation, on a global scale, the Ark is more conducive to communication than HongMeng. Huawei may use the Ark to name the self-developed operating system in markets outside China. However, the company has not officially responded to this.
Gizchina News of the week
On May 24th, the website of the Trademark Office of the State Intellectual Property Office showed that Huawei has applied for registration of the “Huawei HongMeng” trademark. The application date is August 24, 2018, but the registration announcement date is May 14, 2019. The exclusive permission period is From May 14, 2019, to May 13, 2029.

He revealed that Huawei’s own operating system has opened up various fields such as mobile phones, computers, tablets, TVs, automobiles, and smart wearers. It will also be compatible with Android applications and all Web applications. There have been rumors that Huawei will release its own “HongMeng” system on June 24. Subsequently, Huawei confirmed that the report is not true.
