Chinese phone maker Meizu just announced the launch of the “618 Summer Cooling Price” event. Meizu’s various mobile phones (including the Meizu 16S) and accessories will be sold at heavily discounted prices, this is of course dedicated to buyers in China only.
Among them, the new Meizu 16Xs will be listed and sold on June 10 with a starting price of 1499 ($210) yuan, which is 199 yuan cheaper than the official retail price. Meanwhile their 2019’s flagship, the Meizu 16s is straight down 499 yuan for a final price of 2699 yuan ($390).
Meizu 16S Goes on Sale, Early Buyers get a 500 Yuan ($70) Coupon
Meizu then cut the price of the Note 9 to 1199 Yuan ($170), while the Meizu 16X costs 1598 yuan ($230). We then have the Meizu 16th for 2099 yuan ($300), Meizu 16th Plus for 2399 yuan ($350). Finally, the Meizu X8 to the hand price of 1099 yuan ($160).
Discounts aside, the most interesting part of the event is probably the compensation Meizu will give back to Meizu 16s buyers. The company did indeed promise to give a 500 Yuan ($70) coupon to all the people who have registered their Meizu 16S on the official website before June 6th. The coupon will be available on Meizu’s website and it can be used to purchase any desired device. We don’t know if the credit will also work on accessories though. The coupon will be valid up until December of 2019.
The Meizu 16S is the company’s latest flagship phone coming with a screen to body ratio of 91.53%. The smartphone is also 7.6mm think and weighs 165 grams. Inside the slim body we find a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 CPU, 6/8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Meizu’s 16S then backs a 6.2-inch AMOLED display, two rear cameras of 48MP+20MP resolution and a 3600mAh battery.
Other features include a Germany VED Blu-ray eye certification, 0.2 second speed screen fingerprint recognition. Finally we have mEngine 3.0 touch engine, 24W fast charge (13 hours battery life) Meizu Pay, Open Mind 3.0 smart AI engine.
