After dominating the smartphone market, it seems like the Chinese companies are now targetting the growing smart TV market. With Huawei launching its second smart TV soon, OnePlus is also gearing up for its own television. OnePlus TV has already been leaked and teased numerous times earlier by none other than CEO himself. Pete Lau has now teased the television yet again showing a glimpse of the back of the product.

Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, went ahead and posted a teaser image of the upcoming smart television on his official Twitter account. This time he revealed a key aspect of the product in terms of design. As per the teaser image, OnePlus Smart TV is going to feature a kevlar back finish and the back of the device looks very premium and durable. It is worth mentioning that the upcoming OnePlus TV is going to be a premium product competing with the likes of Samsung and LG. If you look at the image closely, you would also notice a slight curvature at the back. The image also shows a support stand at the back which seems to feature metal with a textured finish.

Previously, the Chinese company teased the remote of the television which also features a brushed metal design. You can find the similar design finish on Apple’s TV remote. Coming to the expected specifications, we’re expecting the company to launch 55-inch 4K variant in the Indian market while other markets might see a massive 75-inch model. The upcoming television will come with the Quantum Dot display which will offer much better color accuracy than the OLED panels. OnePlus TV is expected to run on the MediaTek MT5670 chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM. The device will run on the Android operating system with the company’s custom Oxygen OS. For audio, the television will feature 8 speakers offering a combined output of 50 watts.
Pricing, Availability
As per the previous developments, OnePlus TV is expected to hit the Indian market somewhere in this month. In fact, we might see the official unveiling on September 26 which is around 2 weeks away. As expected, the product will be available via Amazon India and retail stores. The rest of the markets will also see the official launch in the coming months. As of now, there is no solid information on the pricing and variants. Since the Indian launch is nearing, we might see more details surfacing online.
