The Redmi Note 8 is going for on first sale starting September 17th in China, the company announced via a post on its official handles yesterday. The Redmi Note 8 starts at a price of 999 Yuan and the first sale will kick off on 10 AM (CST). This comes after its bigger sibling the Redmi Note 8 Pro already held its first sale recording a whopping 300,000 units last week. Apart from the 999 Yuan variant which has 4GB+64GB option, the 6GB+64GB version and 6GB+128GB versions will be sold for 1199 yuan ($168) and 1399 yuan ($196) respectively. The handset should be available on JD.com and Xiaomi own China E-Store as well. It is available in ochre black, white moon, dream blue colours.
The Redmi Note 8 lives up to the legacy of the Redmi Note line despite being a hasty upgrade. It offers a 6.3-inch dot notch Full-HD+ display with thin bezels and a 90% screen ratio. The quad-camera setup consists of a 48MP Sony sensor, an 8MP super wide-angle, 2MP depth of field and 2MP super macro sensors. The front has a solitary 13MP shooter. The processor is a minor upgrade at best, with a Snapdragon 665 taking the place of the Snapdragon 660 while the battery is just the same as the earlier Note 7 with an 18W in-box charger. The Note 8 series is expected to arrive in India as well before Diwali.
