Today, Honor held a press conference. At the event, the company announced a number of new and much-anticipated products. One of them is the Honor V30. After the conference, Honor’s Zhao Ming met with the media and answered their questions.

The Honor V30 series supports the 5G network. But this doesn’t prevent the company from pricing it too low. The starting price is 3299 yuan ($469). And it causes a lot of questions. Particularly, the users are wondering how Honor could come in with the cheapest 5G smartphone.

In response, Zhao Ming explained: ‘This time, the price is more sincere and it is also for the task of ‘5G benchmarking’. I also want to expand the range of 5G users with more cost-effective prices.’

Zhao Ming is more optimistic about the V30 series. The company has previously discussed which 5G smartphone sales are strong this year. And it turns out one comes from Huawei, while the next one should belong to Honor.

For the outlook for next year, Zhao Ming said that there are still some 4G smartphones on sale this year. By the end of next year, almost all products released will be 5G smartphones. In terms of price, the Honor V30 has reached the 4500 yuan ($640) level, and there will be multiple levels next year. 5G smartphones may even reach around 1500 yuan ($213). The price will depend on whether it can bring a better 5G network experience to users.

Regarding this year’s Honor smartphone sales, Zhao Ming said that it has been over-completed in China, and overseas markets have grown slightly due to well-known reasons.
