Honor V30 and V30 Pro officially announced with Kirin 990 5G and a tripe camera


Honor V30 and V30 Pro are official. The widely anticipated smartphones of these last days, with lots of print renderings and live images. The two smartphones finally have officially unveiled, highlighting a completely new design for the brand and in line with what it is starting to propose competition too.

both models are in fact 5G compatible, with a substantial difference, however. The “standard” version integrates a Kirin 990 SoC which is accompanied by an external Balong 5000 dual-mode modem with support for the NSA and SA networks, while the Pro variant uses a Kirin 990 5G chipset made with a 7nm process with integrated modem (with support to the NSA and SA architectures also in this case). Both are 5G/4G dual-mode compatible, thus allowing users to access next-generation networks with both SIM cards.

Honor V30 and V30 Pro features

On stage, the head of Honor George Zhao officially kicked off the brand’s 5G era, announcing the new V-series smartphones, the smartphones comes with a 6.57 inch diagonal IPS display, with Full HD+ resolution and a double hole at the top left. Thanks to this it is possible to obtain a completely Full Screen panel, integrating a Dual Selfie Camera inside.

The Honor V30 Pro shares the same solution regarding the display, but they have different batteries, in the case of top model we have a unit from 4200 mAh with a quick charge from 40W and wireless charging from 27W. It also support reverse wireless charging at 7.5W. The standard Honor V30, on the other hand, loses some features, we have a 4100 mAh battery with 40W fast charge only.

The flagship duo arrives with the Matrix Camera technology, already announced in recent weeks. It is an imaging technology framework, which exploits the maximum integration between hardware and software. For Honor V30 Pro we have a triple 40 + 8 + 12 MP camera, with a main Sony IMX600 RYYB sensor, a telephoto lens and a dedicated video shooting module (capable of shooting clips in 16: 9). The 5-axis OIS stabilization will be present.

The younger brother has a triple 40 + 8 + 8MP camera, with the same main sensor, a telephoto lens, and a wide-angle lens. In this case we have a 4-axis OIS. Both models do not lack laser autofocus, an LED flash, 3X optical zoom and 30X digital zoom.

On the selfie side, the new top models feature a 32 + 8 MP dual camera, with AI functionality for optimized self-timer and night mode. For the rest of the specifications, at the bottom, you will find the technical data sheet of the devices.

Honor V30 Pro 5G

  • 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage – 4,199 Yuan (~$597)

The first sale of the Honor V30 will be held on Dec. 5 in China. The Honor V30 Pro 5G will be available for purchase for the first time on Dec. 12. Color variants of the Honor V30 series include options such as Charm Starfish Blue, Dawn Orange, Magic Night Star River and Icelandic Fantasy.
