Samsung finally unveils the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 as part of the 2020 Galaxy A series of smartphones in Vietnam. Both of them come with a revamped design with Infinity-O Super AMOLED displays and L-shaped quad-camera setup at the rear. These phones will succeed the Galaxy A50s and Galaxy A70s launched back in Q3 of 2019.

Galaxy A51 Specifications

The brand-new Samsung Galaxy A51 sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ Infinity-O Super AMOLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio. The punch-hole sits at the centre of the screen nesting a 32MP f/2.2 shooter for selfies. Under the hood, the phone comes powered by the same Exynos 9611 SoC like its predecessor. It comes in three storage configurations including 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB. Additionally, it also features a dedicated microSD card to further expand the storage up to 512GB.

The back of the device comes in a gradient finish with a plastic build prone to scratches. There is a quad-camera setup arranged in an L-shaped manner at the top left of the rear panel. The setup includes a 48MP primary sensor – f/2.0, a 5MP depth sensor – f/2.2, a 5MP macro unit – f/2.4, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera – f/2.2. Other features include an in-screen fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, One UI 2.0 based on Android 10, and a 4,000mAh battery which charges at the rate of 15W via USB Type-C.

Gizchina News of the week

The Galaxy A51 will be available in Prism Crush Black, White, Blue, and Pink colour options. The price of the phone starts at VND 7,990,000 which approximately equals to $345. Pre-orders for the phone begin on December 16 followed by the sale on December 27. Samsung has not provided availability and price for other markets yet.

Galaxy A71 Specifications

Just like the Galaxy A51, the all-new Galaxy A71 sports an Infinity-O FHD+ Super AMOLED 20:9 display but at 6.7-inches. The same 32MP with f/2.2 aperture resides in the punch hole which is slightly larger than the former phone. Instead of the Snapdragon 675 on its predecessor, it is powered by a much powerful Snapdragon 730 coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot to expand the storage up to 512GB if needed.

The phone features a shiny plastic build similar to its predecessor which is easily subjected to scratches. The L-shaped quad-camera setup is the same as the Galaxy A51 but instead of the 48MP  primary sensor, it comes with a huge 64MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture. That means the other sensors are 5MP(f/2.2) depth unit, 5MP(f/2.4) macro camera, and a 12MP(f/2.2) ultra-wide shooter. The phone runs One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 and features an in-screen fingerprint sensor for authentication along with USB Type-C and 3.5mm headphone jack. Lastly, it is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

Samsung did not reveal the price and availability of the Galaxy A71, however, we can expect it to go on sale by December end or early January.
