Huawei: the user support app has a new look and even new name

Huawei Mate 30 Pro

HiCare will no longer be the way you remember it. The Huawei app, dedicated to customer support, is in fact the subject of a new and important update in these hours, which will change its features, while leaving the service offered unchanged.

The new version (10.1.1.305) is available on the AppGallery, which is the app store owned by the Chinese giant. In fact, it brings a deeply renewed user interface, but also a change of name: it will no longer be called HiCare, but rather “Support”.

The reason for this change of course is not entirely clear, it probably has to do with a new, broader strategy, which Huawei plans to implement to establish itself as an increasingly independent giant in the smartphone sector. Below you will find the complete changelog of the new update.

It is worth to mention that recently, a representative of Huawei has announced that they will never use Google services again. This is even if the ban is lifted.

Huawei has been greatly affected by the US ban, which is more than obvious. Their phones have lost Google services which means that their users cannot install Play Store applications or use Google’s own applications, such as YouTube. At least not natively (they can install it manually in less than 10 minutes). The point is that we all wanted the US ban to end so that normality returned to the Chinese company. But now we are stunned to learn that even if that happens, Google services will not return to Huawei. Which is not good news for the fans of the brand.
