WhatsApp Beta for Android gets new solid color backgrounds for its dark theme

WhatsApp

WhatsApp has implemented the dark theme in its Beta version a few weeks ago on Android. Well, it seems that the delay in launching the theme had other goals behind it.

According to WABetainfo, the WhatsApp application will earn more than Dark Mode in its next updates. It was discovered that Facebook, owner of WhatsApp, intends to implement new solid color backgrounds.

New background colors for Whatsapp will arrive with the dark theme on Android

These backgrounds are all dark. In other words, we still have the advantage of saving autonomy on the smartphone when using the application.

We have new backgrounds to add to the typical Dark Theme that we are already used to. Therefore, in the new Beta version, users can choose between Dark Brown, Dark Navy, Dark Olive, Dark Purple and Dark Velvet. If you select a dark solid color and you change the theme, WhatsApp will automatically change that dark solid color to a light one.

That way, you can select these colors if you have WhatsApp version 2.20.32 installed. It is worth mentioning that it is a “server” update. That is, not all users with this version installed will see the solid color possibilities.

Benefits of the dark theme

  • Better reading in low light situations
  • Better smartphone autonomy management
  • Different design than usual

It is worth noting that none of these colors will be as good for autonomy as the black one. In fact, it is a pity that WhatsApp did not even opt for “black” instead of a dark color.

The black manages to save considerably more autonomy in smartphones with OLED and AMOLED screens. In the models that have an LCD screen, the autonomy is saved, however, not with the same relevance as in other screens. What do you think about the new Whatsapp background colors?
