Mi 10 Pro

In another chapter of “Insane and ambitious ads,” Xiaomi has sent the recently released Mi 10 Pro to space. There we can see some of the capabilities of the 108MP camera. The smartphone is attached to a space satellite and takes stunning shots of Earth.

Xiaomi launched a satellite in 2019 with the same 108MP on board as the Mi 10 Pro. Although the images look really stunning, these only make up about 8 seconds of the entire 1-minute and 27-second commercial. If you want to see the samples, scrub ahead to 0:54 mark in the video below.

Of course, the ad proves that smartphone cameras aren’t really ideal for shooting photos of the Earth from space. However, the final result seems adequate at this point. The tagline of the ad says “See your world in 108 megapixels”. We all know that we’re never going to take our smartphone to the space to take shots from there.

As per the ad, Xiaomi expects to serve over 100 million users around the world in 2020. The Mi 10 series is already available in China, however, the company will hold the international launch of its new smartphones on March 27. The smartphones were well received in China, and now they figure among the highly-anticipated launches of 2020.
