Apple iPad Pro 11 2020 scores over 700,000 at AnTuTu Benchmark

Apple iPad

Yesterday, Apple took the wraps off the latest generation iPad Pros – both 11-inch and 12.9-inch models. They feature the company’s new custom A1Z chipset. Today, the 11-inch variant iPad Pro 11 2020 has been tested on AnTuTu which revealed some interesting details about its specs.

It’s interesting to see that Apple opted for calling this chip A12Z while the new iPhones pack an A13 SoC. You might think that the former is weaker than the latter right? However, that’s not the case. The iPhone 11 A13 has six-core CPU and a Quad-Core GPU. The A12X, found in the last year’s iPad Pros, has an Octa-Core CPU and Seven-Core GPU. This year’s iPad Pros’ A12Z chipset has an Octa-Core CPU and Octa-Core GPU.

Now we can talk about the iPad Pro 11 2020 test. The tested unit has 6GB 0f RAM, which is 2GB more than last year’s models and is a big deal in and of itself. The new iPad is also running the as-of-yet unreleased iOS 13.4 and has 128GB of internal storage.

Gizchina News of the week

The CPU is more or less equal to an iPad Pro from last year, but the added GPU core represents a 9% increase in the GPU score. Worth noting that the last year’s iPad Pro was already a monster when it comes to playing games, so we believe that the new GPU will definitely improve what was already good.

The overall is score is also one of the best spotted at AnTuTU. It goes beyond the 700,000 limits. We all know that comparing benchmark numbers across platforms isn’t always ideal. After all, there are multiple variables in this process. However, it’s still close to 100,000 more than the Snapdragon 865 rivals on the Android side of the coin.

“it’s still close to 100,000 more than the Snapdragon 865” not fair comparison. Because this device software is optimized to the hardware that it runs. Android devices with SD865 most of the software is not optimized companies like Samsung, xiaomi, huawei, itd are not software companies .

How is that not fair? They all probably have thousands of software engineers? That’s like Google being primarily a software company for Android, and saying “not fair, they aren’t a hardware company”.
