There are some high profile smartphone launches this week including the Huawei P40 series and the Redmi K30 Pro. Vivo has also scheduled launch for the end of the month with the Vivo S6 5G. Today, the company revealed promotional teasers of the phone along with brand ambassador, Turbo Liu (known also as Liu Haoran), a 22-year-old Chinese actor.
If 2019 was one of the most inspiring and innovative years for smartphone design, I must say 2020 has been the most lacklustre and boring one as of yet. This Vivo S6 poster is another confirmation of that. It seems Chinese OEMs have run out of ideas finally and they’re mostly opting for very similar elements in the camera cutout, material and build selection options. There’s a circular camera cutout similar to the Redmi K30 Pro on the back and the front, as we suspect, could very well also have a dual hole-punch display.
Though the battery capacity of the Vivo S6 5G is not confirmed till now, the Chinese 3C certification website the device was spotted on has already revealed that it will support up to 18W fast charging (9Vdc, 2A).
A 48MP rear camera is also officially confirmed and there will be two gradient colour options as a JD.com listing shows. We can see at least two colors – Pink-Blue-White gradient and Dark Blue-White gradient.
