Google Play Store now shows download count for App search results

Google Play store

The Play Store is quite important for most Android users and any positive change to the store is a great idea. Recent reports show that the company is making some changes to the appearance of the Play Store search result. Before now, we search for an app on the Play Store, the search results show the name of the developer, rating, and price. However, this has changed with the new update

With the current update, you just don’t see only the name of the developer and rating, you also see download count and app size in the search results. Generally, this update makes users operate the Play Store faster and easier. At first glance, we can know more details about any app of interest. Before now, if you need to know the app size and popularity (download count), you will have to go to the app page and scroll down.

Google Play Store update is rolling out in phases

This update is obviously rolling out in phases and we want to believe that many smartphones already have the update. The Play Store is updating automatically so you will not have to take any action for this update. Checking for the search display pattern (searched for the app “Slack”) on four Android phones at my disposal, I realized that three of these devices already had the update. Samsung Galaxy S9, Xiaomi Mi 9SE and Xiaomi Mi Max 3 already have the update while Elephone PX still had the old search display pattern.
