Huawei Y9 2019 gets March security update and still wait for EMUI 10

Huawei has just released a new update for its Y9 2019. It’s the same device for which there have been misunderstandings between the Chinese manufacturer and its users. This was regarding the major update to the EMUI 10.

The newly released update does not bring the new interface based on Android 10 but is focused on the security aspect. The update refers to the version 9.1.0.264 of the EMUI, which has a weight of about 98 MB and includes the Android security patches related to March 2020. The update is currently under automatic distribution via OTA in the various regions where it is marketed.

It is worth mentioning that Huawei has confirmed earlier that Huawei Y9 2019 is eligible to receive EMUI 10 but its Indian Variant may not receive the EMUI 10.

Huawei Y9 2019: What about EMUI 10?

EMUI 10

There is no doubt that EMUI 10 has become one of the most desired Android user interfaces of the moment. Shortly after the appearance of the software for the Prime model, the brand has answered the users on the social networks. They have been asking about the availability of the update for their mobile phones. The answer was that there will be no EMUI 10 for the mid-range family models.

Many users have criticized that the brand alleges that some smartphones run out of the operating system due to that the limitations of the hardware of their devices do not allow the smooth operation of EMUI 10. This, on paper, is logical, but Huawei customers criticize that other phones with similar specs, such as the Nova or the P Smart, will be updated.

Many of them have joined on Change.org to show their disagreement with Huawei policy and raise their right to receive Android 10 through an operating system update. The company has later confirmed that Huawei Y9 2019 will receive EMUI 10 after all, but no official release date has been communicated.

A lot of Y9 2019 owners won’t buy Huawei products again just because of this, why can’t Huawei copy Apple’s software updates (they provide years of updates to their customers) instead of copying their designs!
