Galaxy Fold 2: Samsung will lower the starting price of its foldable smartphone

Galaxy Fold

Samsung has launched its first foldable, the Samsung Galaxy Fold, last year. The Galaxy Z Flip followed this year. It is said that it should not have done that. But, Samsung is apparently planning another foldable, namely the Galaxy Fold 2. However, this time Samsung plans to push the price down a bit and also offer a variant with 256 GB capacity.

We do not know for sure whether Samsung will actually launch its next foldable as the Galaxy Fold 2 or maybe choose a different name. So the first Galaxy Fold had to deal with some really bad problems, which had to do with the durability of the display and ultimately led to several delays.

The successor model with 256 GB of storage space should have the model number SM-F916. This time the foldable Galaxy phone is 7.7 inches diagonally. The actual Galaxy Fold is at 7.3 inches. When folded, the screen should be 4.6 inches. Samsung probably wants to use an Infinity-O display, i.e. to place the front camera in a punch hole in the middle. It is currently unclear whether the Galaxy Fold 2 could also come with an S Pen.

As for the main camera, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 could use the same camera as the S20+. It is also possible that Samsung could offer a cheaper version with the model number SM-F910, limited to 4G, in addition to a variant with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and thus 5G support.

The Samsung Galaxy-Fold2 is due to be released in the third quarter of 2020, if that’s the name. Samsung could possibly present the new mobile device at the same time as the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 – in August. However, we have no official confirmation yet, we will tell you more as soon as possible.
