Xiaomi Mi 10 will be launched in India on May 8, finally

Mi 10

Xiaomi fans in India have been waiting a long time to see the Mi 10 becoming a reality in the country. The company had big plans for releasing its latest flagship on March 31, however, a change of plans was necessary due to the COVID-19 crisis. The fact is that in the end of March, India’s government imposed the world’s largest lockdown to control the coronavirus in the country populated by over 1,3 billion people. All stores were closed across the country and online retailers couldn’t sell anything but essential goodies. In the end of the last month, India relaxed some lockdown policies, and now Xiaomi is ready to launch its flagship.

Xiaomi took to Twitter to announce an online streaming event that will evoke a lot of excitement. On May 8, the company will reveal the highly-anticipated flagship, the Mi 10 5G. As expected, just the vanilla and most affordable version will arrive here. Details about pricing and availability should pop-out in the coming days. With the launch happening in just 4 days from now, stay tuned for more news.

Mi 10 specifications

The vanilla Mi 10 packs a 6.67-inch display with FHD+ resolution and a top-left aligned punch-hole for the 20MP selfie snapper. This display has a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 180Hz touch-sampling. Under the hood, the smartphone boasts the Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM. There are two storage variants with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Moving around to the back, we have a Quad-Camera setup. It comprises a 108MP wide, 13MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensors. Unlike its Pro sibling, it does not include a telephoto module.

Battery capacity is 4780mAh and the company implemented a 30W fast-charging technology. The flagship also features 30W wireless charging which definitively is a plus. The phone runs Android 10 with MIUI 11 running atop.
