Apple is expected to launch its next iteration of smartphones dubbed iPhone 12 lineup later this year. Considering previous trends, we should see the unveiling happening somewhere in the month of September. It looks like the Cupertino-based company is also planning to launch a cheaper LTE version of the device.

A leakster on Twitter who goes by the user name @omegaleaks recently mentioned LTE version along with the pricing. Considering the tweet, the iPhone 12 LTE version should arrive with a $549 price tag. The iPhone 12 Max LTE variant, on the other hand, should set the consumer back $649. If that’s the case, then Apple will be covering five different price brackets.

The new leak falls in line with the previous report from @jon_prossur that revealed the expected pricing of the iPhone 12 lineup. As per that report, iPhone 12 devices will be available in four different prices – $649, $749, $999, and $1099. Considering both the two reports, it looks iPhone 12 will have three different size options while total variants are going to be five.
As mentioned earlier, Apple will launch its new 2020 iPhone 12 series in Septemeber while the mass-production will kickstart in July. With the new LTE variant, Apple is looking to target the sub-$549 segments. This makes sense considering most of the consumer out there are unwilling to spend a premium on devices. This new variant will help the company focus on that particular set of user.
It is also worth noting that Samsung followed a similar approach with its Lite flagship devices earlier this year. Considering the recent report, the chaebol is planning to do the same again for its S20 lineup.
Expected Specs, Features
Considering previous leaks, Apple iPhone 12 devices will arrive in three different screen sizes – 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch. The panels will come with the 2340 x 1080 pixels, 2532 x 1170 pixels and 2778 x 1284 pixels resolution respectively. We should also see a 120Hz refresh rate panel as well. We will see the entire lineup running on A14 Bionic chipset paired with 4GB/6GB and 128/256/512GB onboard memory.
Apple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max to arrive with dual rear cameras with a 64MP rear sensor. The iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will feature a triple module with a 64MP primary sensor. For selfies and video calling, all the variants will feature a 12MP front snapper.
