Nubia Watch is available for reservation, reaching the market on July 28

The segment of smart wearables is one of the most competitive ones in 2020. This is not being an easy year for technology companies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the market of wearables managed to overcome the crisis and achieve good results. Many companies joined the range this year including Oppo and Realme. Now, Nubia is preparing the debut of a new smartwatch in China. You probably know Nubia’s name due to the popularity of its gaming series. The company also was a ZTE subsidiary in the past. Now, Nubia flies alone and will give another step in the wearable segment with the Nubia Watch. The wearable will launch on July 28 in China, but it is available for reservation on JD.com.

The Nubia Watch is simpler than Nubia Alpha, it does not bring a camera. But includes a flexible display. The wearable’s promotional image carries the term “urban adventurer”. Apparently, this indicates that the new watch will have some high-durability features to ensure that it’s ready for most adventurous scenarios in the city. However, this may also be just an indication of a modern “urban” design. Unfortunately, there are still no details regarding the features of the upcoming smartwatch. The pricing also remains a mystery.

Gizchina News of the week

It will not be the most affordable smartwatch

Despite this, we can make some educated guesses on this wearable. The Nubia Alpha reached China with a price of 3,499 Yuan. Which is just expensive at a $499 price tag. Of course, that variant brought eSIM card functionality. We also had a more expensive version with 18K gold plating. It was sould for 4,499 Yuan, which is around $642. At the moment, the price of the wearable sits at the 1,188 Yuan which is much more affordable at $169. Apparently, this reduction in the price has something to do with the imminent arrival of the Nubia Watch. The new wearable should sit between the Nubia Alpha current price and its launch price. You can expect something around the 3,000 Yuan mark. Of course, this is just a speculation at the moment. Anyway, we’ll do need to wait much longer as the device will be released in just three days from now.

As aforementioned you can ask for appointments in the JingDong retailer. Once the device gets released, it will probably be sold across several retailers in China and via Nubia’s website.
