Qualcomm says its Adreno GPU has shipped 2.5 billion units since 2005


American chip maker, Qualcomm, recently took cognizance of its chip performance in terms of gaming. No doubt, Qualcomm’s chips are doing quite well in the smartphone market. Today, the Qualcomm Snapdragon ChinaJoy preview held online. The main aim of the preview is to appraise the gaming performance of the Snapdragon 865.

According to Qualcomm’s chairman, Frank Meng, 5G’s high-speed and low-latency features can support faster game loading. It can also make multiplayer games smoother and real-time cloud games will become much better. Qualcomm hopes to transform flagship smartphones into powerful game consoles. The company already has the “Snapdragon Elite Gaming” to help in this regard.

However, the Adreno GPU is the core of Qualcomm’s game ecology and gaming experience. Official data shows that since its debut in 2005, Adreno GPUs have cumulatively shipped more than 2.5 billion units. In terms of performance, the Adreno 650 GPU integrated on the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform can provide a 25% improvement in graphics rendering performance compared to the previous generation platform.

Finally, Qualcomm said that in the upcoming 2020 ChinaJoy, it will collaborate with three major operators and nine major terminal brands to jointly present the “Qualcomm Snapdragon Theme Pavilion”. Also, with the support of operators, it hopes to achieve 5G coverage of the entire museum.
