What started with a single smartphone already brought PC Notebooks, TVs, washing machines, and many other Redmi-branded products. Now, the brand is gearing up to unveil its first smartwatch, likely Redmi Watch.
It’s the second important step given by the company in this segment. A few months ago, Redmi introduced the Redmi Band. This fitness tracker reached some markets as Mi Smart Band 4C. Now the company wants to give a more consistent jump in the wearable segment. Nothing better than a good smartwatch to further establish its presence there. According to the Chinese leakster, Digital Chat Station, the company will announce its smartwatch very soon.

This obviously isn’t the first time we hear about Redmi Smartwatch. The first rumors about this wearable surfaced in late 2019, after the launch of the Mi Watch. Redmi’s General Manager, Lu Weibing, asked on Weibo shortly after the Mi Watch launch if fans of the brand were looking forward to a Redmi Watch. The company makes this to tease incoming products.
In January this year, a Redmi product with model number HMSH01GE was certified under the “SmartWatch” category. Now, after many months, it seems that the wearable is finally complete and ready to hit the market. The question that remains is how it will be called, just Redmi Watch? We expect it to come with all smart functions offered by the Mi Watch. Of course, Redmi will make some sacrifices to make it cheaper than its sibling. However, all health-centric features and customization options may be present here. The wearable should come with a customized version of WearOS.
As aforementioned, we don’t expect this new smartwatch to be expensive. But we have an idea of when Xiaomi will launch it. According to Digital Chat Station, the wearable will be revealed “soon”. This coincides with the fact that Xiaomi will unveil a new Redmi smartphone with Dimensity 1000+ in the next month. Since the introduction of Dimensity 1000+ powered smartphone from Redmi will be a pretty important event, we believe that there is enough room for a Redmi Smartwatch.
