The mystery of Hongmeng OS and EMUI 11 will be revealed on September

According to Huawei’s official website, the 2020 Huawei Developer Conference will be held in Songshan Lake, Dongguan, from September 10 to September 12. Huawei said, “We will share with you the latest developments of HMS Core 5.0 and unveil the mystery of HarmonyOS and EMUI 11.”

Huawei’s consumer business CEO Mr. Yu Chengdong (Richard Yu), Huawei’s consumer business software president Wang Chenglu, and Huawei’s consumer business cloud services president Zhang Pingan will be invited as special guests.

Earlier news broke that Huawei Hongmeng OS 2.0 is coming, and new Huawei watches, PCs, and even tablets will be launched later this year.

Regarding when Hongmeng OS can be applied to mobile phones, Huawei’s consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong said in an interview yesterday that this plan will not be released this year, and there will be next year.

Recall that in June of this year, Huawei launched the HMS Core 5.0 update for developpers, adding audio, video, image, graphics engine, computer graphics, augmented reality engine and other service capabilities, and the core capabilities have been further improved.

EMUI 11 based on Android 11 will arrive to 250 million users

EMUI 10.1 is already available for more than 30 models of Huawei smartphones and tablets. But soon it will get a new version of EMUI 11 firmware.

Earlier, Huawei officially announced that HDC 2020 events will take place on September 10-12 of this year. In which, it will present the EMUI 11 user interface.

Google is due to release the final version of the Android 11 operating system in September, too. It will form the basis of EMUI 11. Sources claim that the final version of EMUI 11 will be available in the fourth quarter of this year. The first smartphone that will run EMUI 11 out of the box will be the Huawei Mate 40. Its presentation may also take place in September. But the release should be in October this year.

After the Mate 40, Huawei will begin rolling out EMUI11 for other smartphone and tablet models. EMUI 11  will eventually be available on more than 40 mobile devices from the Chinese tech giant.

According to Huawei itself, the user base of EMUI 11 should exceed 250 million.
