OnePlus forces the installation of its OnePlus Buds app in its smartphones

Remember OnePlus One, which at the time of its release seemed like something fantastic and unrealistically cool? Those days are over and if the first-borns of the company were something great and justifying the nickname “flagship killers”, then today it is not so. And all because of the rise in prices. However, OnePlus smartphones are not letting fans go away and attracting more and more users for several reasons. One of them is software.

OnePlus forces the installation of its OnePlus Buds app in its smartphones

OxygenOS is a minimalistic and stylish user interface with a neutral design that does not annoy or impose its mood. There is a feeling that the guys at OnePlus know how to please a lot. But lately, something has broken, it would seem, in the perfectly streamlined mechanism of hearing and pleasing users.

For example, a number of developers and users have recently criticized the company, accusing it of inflating software. The company began to add non-removable applications into the firmware. And now it’s the case of the OnePlus Buds app.

In particular, a number of users have accused OnePlus of secretly and forcibly installing this app if Google Play’s automatic update is activated. The OnePlus Buds app is designed to help you set up and find your wireless headphones.

Not all users liked the company’s policy regarding the unauthorized installation of the program, the forced imposition of it. Furious users began bombarding the app with angry comments on Google Play, urging OnePlus to listen to its users, to stop the practice of forced installation of unnecessary software. The user is free to choose which applications to download to the smartphone. Their anger is understandable because not all of them use OnePlus Buds headphones and the app of the same name is simply useless for them.

But OnePlus is far from alone in this software imposition. Google did the same after the release of the Pixel Buds headphones. The corresponding application for working with them has also appeared unauthorizedly on Pixel smartphones.
