OnePlus 5/5T bug is delaying system updates

OnePlus 5

OnePlus posted on the community forum to explain the reasons for the delay of the Oxygen OS for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. According to the Chinese manufacturer, there is a serious bug affecting these phones, and it’s stopping them from getting updates. The company said

“…When we were testing this internal version, we found a major bug related to the communication module. The team evaluates this issue can seriously affect the user experience. Moreover, this issue requires a lot of back and forth communication with carriers to solve the problem…”

According to OnePlus, due to the complex nature of this issue, it can not deliver the next stable update for the OnePlus 5 and 5T. Unfortunately, the company did not say how soon it hopes to resolve this issue. However, looking at the seriousness of the bug, it might take some time to sort out. Thus, if you use the OnePlus 5 or 5T, do not expect any updates for now. The company is actively working to sort out the issue.

The OnePlus 5 was released on June 21, 2017. Thus smartphone has two versions – the 6GB+64GB Moonstone Grey version and the 8GB+128GB Star Black Edition. As for the OnePlus 5T, it was released on November 27. Both smartphone uses Qualcomm’s 2017 flagship chip, Snapdragon 835 SoC.
