However, with the latest ban, the Mate 40 series could be Huawei’s last flagship for now. There have been reports that the Huawei Mate 40 series will be significantly delayed due to some supply issues. According to popular Weibo leakster, @鹏鹏君车, the Huawei Mate 40 series will be released globally in mid-October. However, this series will arrive in China at the end of October.

According to the Weibo post, the Mate 40 series will have four models. We will have the Huawei Mate 40, Mate Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and Mate 40 RS Porsche design. According to Huawei’s consumer business CEO, Yu Chengdong, the Mate 40 series will arrive soon. In one of his recent Weibo post, he responded to a question regarding the launch of the Huawei ate 40 series. He said, “Please wait a moment, everything will come as planned.”

In terms of design, the Huawei Mate 40 series still use the dual front punch-hole design. This series will re-introduce the physical volume buttons on the side frame. However, it will also retain the virtual buttons. Thus, users will have the option of choosing which is more convenient for them.

In addition, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ “Super Cup” will come with the new ultra-sensitive Leica quad camera. The main lens is a 50MP sensor. At the same time, the zoom and movie lens is new and it uses a periscope telephoto lens which supports 5x optical zoom. Furthermore, this camera configuration also supports 55x digital zoom.

According to reports, the Huawei Mate 40 will come with a 6.67-inch curved LG screen. This display will have a 90Hz refresh rate. In terms of cameras, there is a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. The phone also has a laser autofocus module.

There will also be a Mate 40 Pro/Mate 40 Pro+ which should use a waterfall screen from LG Display and BOE. Just like the standard version, it also supports a 90Hz refresh rate and uses a Kirin 9000 processor. In terms of cameras, It will arrive with a 50MP sensor using Huawei’s liquid camera technology. Earlier reports believed that this feature will not appear until the Huawei P50 arrives next year. However, there may not launch a P50 series.

In terms of software, Huawei Mate 40 Pro will be pre-installed with EMUI 11 based on Android 11 and Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). However, the Huawei Mate 40 will come with an EMUI 10.x system. The battery capacity of the Mate 40 series is 4300 mAh, 4600 mAh, and 5000 mAh. They are applicable to Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro+ respectively.
