HarmonyOS to release the “distributed technology” update in July

On June 2, Huawei officially released its smart terminal operating system HarmonyOS 2. At the launch event, the company also unveiled the first public beta of HarmonyOS 2. At the time, this system was available to smartphones like the Huawei Mate 40 series, Mate 30 series, P40 series, Mate X2, MatePad Pro. However, although HarmonyOS 2 brings many new features, there are still some features that have not appeared in the current version.

Recently, a number of reports claim that HarmonyOS will usher in a new upgrade next month. According to the reports, the new update will bring “distributed technology” to this system. We will have features like “distributed cameras”, “distributed document management”, “distributed tasks”, and “distributed circulation”

This technology will allow HarmonyOS to support multi-camera mode. This means that users can use multiple devices to capture the same image. This will pave way for a seamless connection between smartphones, tablets, watches, and even drones.

Furthermore, the system also brings a brand-new UI interaction method. It will introduce a large number of card-like designs, such as unified control center, HarmonyOS desktop, etc., which are simple to use.

It is worth mentioning that in terms of performance, Huawei has made a lot of optimizations on the bottom layer of HarmonyOS 2. The latest system now has a better performance which is 42% higher. In addition, it also significantly reduces the power drain.

According to Huawei, after 36 months of use, the sequential read speed of HarmonyOS 2 will drop by only 4.5%. In comparison, iOS drops by 75% within the same period. For the sequential write speed of HarmonyOS 2, it will drop by 0.9%, and random reads and writes will drop by less than 5%. For iOS, the decline is about 20% to 30%.
