According to Guo Ping, Huawei’s rotating chairman, the company’s survival is not a problem. He believes that the issue with the U.S. will eventually have a solution. The Chinese manufacturer is working with industry chain partners to solve the problem of supply continuity and competitiveness. The four rounds of US sanctions affect Huawei’s consumer sector more than other areas. Guo Ping said that the United States has created many difficulties for Huawei, but these difficulties are solvable.

“The mobile phone business has caused us the greatest difficulty at the current stage. We all know that the chip of a mobile phone requires advanced technology, small size, and low power consumption” said Mr. Ping.

According to him, designing the chip is not Huawei’s problem. However, if Huawei designs the chip, who will produce the chip for them? No one. This is where the major issue lies. According to him, Huawei’s partners in the industry chain are still tackling key issues.

However, Guo Ping also expressed confidence in Huawei’s mobile phone business, saying that he believes that “our consumer business will survive and we will not give up the mobile phone business”. According to him, of the three largest industrial fields in the world, the first field is real estate, the second field is automobiles, and the third field is mobile phones.

This is the second time that the company is making such a remark. After the release of its revenue report for the first half of 2021, the company made a similar remark. It is expected that with the continuous enhancement of core manufacturing capabilities, Huawei will eventually find a way back.

Huawei will still release flagships

The recently released P50 series does not support 5G and it’s stuck with 4G. The Huawei P50 series has two versions with Snapdragon 888 and Kirin 9000 SoCs. Unfortunately, none of these devices support 5G, they only support 4G network. The impact of this is already showing in the market. After the launch of the P50 series, old models that support 5G such as Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 40 saw an increase in their prices. This is because users consider old models with 5G to be better than newer 4G smartphones. This problem is not easy to solve, but it is not impossible to bypass the 5G restrictions from the U.S. According to the latest report, the Chinese manufacturer will be able to solve the 5G problem in 2022.
