iOS 15 Messages App has a bug that can delete your photos

iOS 15

According to multiple reports on Twitter and other platforms, there seems to be a serious bug plaguing the iOS 15 system. Users are reporting that a bug in the iOS 15 Messages App may cause some saved photos to automatically delete. The report shows that if you save an image from a Message thread and delete the thread, you may not have the image the next time you perform anĀ iCloud Backup. Unfortunately, saving the image in your personal iCloud Photo Library does not change anything. The Messages app on iOS 15 appears to have a link with the iCloud thus deleting the thread will also make you lose the image.

To check if this is true for your system, you can use the following steps

  • From a Messages conversation, save any image to the album
  • Confirm that the image is available in the album
  • Delete the Messages conversation from where you saved the image. At this point, the image will still be in the album
  • Make an iCloud backup and the image will disappear.

According to the latest report, this bug exists in theĀ iOS 15.1 Beta 2, so Apple has not resolved it in the latest update.

iOS 15 may be the most buggy update from Apple

So far, the iOS 15 is probably one of the most buggy updates released by Apple. There are a plethora of bugs in the new update and an annoying issue is the inability to unlock your iPhone using your Apple Watch when wearing the mask. In some cases, the system does not even allow you to set up this unlock method.

Some usersĀ report a non-functional viewfinder in the camera app. Some are unable to wake up their iPhone 13 smartphones upon touch, and there is some screen unresponsiveness after unlocking. For instance, it prevents the user to swipe up after a successful face recognition. Another bug involves the Mail app that crashes all of sudden.

Apple acknowledges most of the bugs. The company even addressed the Apple Watch issue in the iOS 15.1 beta 2 version. However, it requires you to be inside the beta testing program. Overall users will have to wait until the stable rollout of iOS 15.1. It shouldn’t take so long according to recent reports.
