The Vivo S12 smartphone has popped up on the internet, giving us our first look at the phone’s awe-inspiring design. Vivo is gearing up for the imminent China launch of its S12 series smartphones. The upcoming lineup will reportedly go official in the company’s home country next month. Moreover, the upcoming S12 series will include two models. These include the Vivo S12 and its Pro variant.
The two smartphones recently bagged 3C certifications in China and arrived on TENAA carrying model numbers V2162A and V2163A. Earlier this month, the Vivo S12 Pro smartphone’s live images surfaced online, showcasing the phone’s outward appearance. Interestingly, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is still mum on its plan to launch the next S-series smartphones. Now, a noted leaker has shared the Vivo S12 smartphone’s images, despite the lack of official confirmation.
Vivo S12 Design & Other Details Tipped
Taking to his Twitter account on November 26, tipster Ankit shared a few images of the upcoming Vivo S12 smartphone. Regrettably, the image of the handset is blurry. Nevertheless, it confirms that the front design of the S12 will be similar to its Pro sibling. However, it is still unclear whether the side of the phone’s display will have a curved edge. To recall, earlier leaks have indicated that the S12 Pro will sport an eye-catching display with a notable curved edge.

There is a possibility that the S12 could come with the same curved-edge screen, given that both variants adopt the same notch design. The notch at the top of the display will probably accommodate the smartphones’ front shooter. According to Ankit’s tweet, the S12 will house three rear-mounted cameras. The image shows a vertically aligned triple camera setup at the top left corner at the back.
Expected Features & Specs
Details about the vanilla S12 smartphone’s camera setup are still scarce. However, the S12 Pro is tipped to feature a 50MP primary camera at the back. The S12 is likely to house some variation of the S12 Pro’s camera setup. Furthermore, some reports suggest that the S12 Pro will be available in three color options. However, the S12 will be up for grabs in a single color option. The images shared by Ankit suggest that it will be available in a gold color variant.
As mentioned, Vivo has kept details about the S12 series launch date under wraps. However, a noted leaker who goes by the name Arsenal, suggests that the Vivo S12 series will launch around the same time as the Oppo Reno 7 series. While the upcoming Oppo phones will have flat displays, Arsenal claims that the new Vivo phones will come with curved screens.
