OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro Now Receiving Stable Android-12 Based OxygenOS 12 Update

Enthusiast smartphone brand OnePlus is rolling out a new stable update to the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro on a global scale, with this new update bringing Oxygen OS 12 with Android 12 to the two devices.

Do take care while downloading this new update, since certain reports suggest that a few users are facing signal loss issues. This is likely to be a carrier-based issue, but we are not sure of the same. As of the time of writing this article, the company has not posted in regards to this update on its forums as it usually does.

For those unaware, OxygenOS 12 brings with it multiple changes whilst staying in tune with the Oppo-fication of the brand. The company does manage to maintain the OS despite the merger, but there are certain design elements that you cannot miss, as well as animations similar to Oppo offerings.

The app icons, which are integral to the UI have been updated with new textures, with OnePlus mentioning that it is a design “inspired by brand-new materials and uniting lights and layers.”

In addition to this, the OnePlus Shelf for the OnePlus 9 Series is getting multiple changes, with new Shelf card styles and fresh cards which include OnePlus Scout, a card for the OnePlus Watch and an Earphone Control Card.

Work-Life Balance will also be on offer, with users getting the option to switch between their Work and Life modes via a simple Setting change. Each mode will feature customizations for apps and other tools.

The company’s Gallery is also seeing some changes, with support for pinch-to-zoom layouts whilst scrolling thumbnails. Canvas Always-on-Display now comes with new styles, more controls of the colours and appearance as well as new control lines.

In other OnePlus news, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is now available in India at a discounted price. The device is currently available with a Rs 2,000 discount for the regular variant and Rs 3,000 for the Nord 2 Pac Man Edition from both Amazon.in and OnePlus.in.

Furthermore, Amazon India is offering an additional discount of Rs 2,000 on the exchange of specific devices, with the offer live on both platforms as of the time of writing this article. This offer will be available till the end of the year. For those curious, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G debuted in India back in July of 2021.
