Xiaomi 11 Ultra

On Wednesday, renowned Chinese display manufacturer Tianma Microelectronics announced that it has signed an agreement with Xiaomi to set up a laboratory to develop new displays. The result of this collaboration should be the emergence of new light and thin panels that display high-quality images with low power consumption.

Xiaomi wants to create its own displays

It is assumed that the focus will primarily be on the development of flexible OLED displays, which will find their application in flagship devices. The lab will work directly with the industry chain, from mining to refining, to enhance the company’s research and development capabilities. This will shorten the development cycle for new technologies and accelerate the advancement of new products into mass production.

The executive vice president of Tianma Microelectronics also said the lab will work on more than just smartphone panels. The laboratory will begin to develop displays for other electronics, but he did not give specifics in terms of what gadgets they will be created for.
