Oppo Find X4 series to come in February with Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Oppo Find X4 vs Galaxy S22

Oppo has just confirmed the arrival of its Oppo Find X4 series. During the recent Oppo Inno Day (Oppo’s annual event for innovation), the company confirmed that the next Find X-series smartphones will come with a custom chip. As per the reports, the upcoming flagship series will be called Find X4 or Find X5 series. The company is also likely to launch two new smartphones – a vanilla Oppo Find X4, and an Oppo Find X4 Pro. The devices are expected for the first quarter of 2022, but recent reports suggest that they might arrive much earlier than usual.

As per the report, the two smartphones will use flagship chips from MediaTek and Qualcomm. That said, the vanilla Oppo Find X4 will come with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. The Pro variant, on the other hand, will stick with the usual Qualcomm flagship. In this case, it’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 at the helm. There are also reports for a third variant, after all, this has been a common trend among companies. The third variant could be either dubbed Oppo Find X4 Pro+ or Find X4 Ultra. Time will tell. Unfortunately, details about this variant are scarce at this point. But we can expect it to be the one with Oppo’s retractable camera.

Gizchina News of the week

Oppo Find X4 series will bring 80W charging

The tipster also notes that the smartphones will feature ordinary telephoto camera features. The current set of prototype devices does not feature a periscope camera setup. In addition to this, the devices will also ship with 80 W fast-charging straight out of the box. That’s a curious affirmation, after all, earlier reports have been suggesting Oppo bring its new 125 W fast-charging standard with these devices.

Both Qualcomm and MediaTek flagship offerings are made on the cutting-edge 4 nm standard. While MediaTek uses the TSMC process, Qualcomm sticks with Samsung’s 4 nm manufacturing. But recent reports suggest that Qualcomm is not happy with Samsung and is planning to also source its chips from TSMC. Talking about chipsets, both platforms bring ARM Cortex-X2 cores, Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510 cores. The main differences are in the incremental technologies and also in the GPU department. According to recent benchmarks, Qualcomm wins in the GPU department with its Adreno 730 GPU offering better performance. However, for the standard user, both Oppo Find X4 and X4 Pro will feel similar in terms of performance.
