Since the official launch of HarmonyOS back in June last year, over 200 million Huawei devices now have this update. The company is also releasing regular updates to fix bugs and improve performance on the system. The flagship Huawei Mate 40 Pro already has the HarmonyOS update. However, the company recently began to push the internal beta version of HarmonyOS 2.0.0.222 to Huawei Mate 40 Pro. The installation package size is 1.66GB thus you need to ensure that you have enough space and data before downloading the update.

The new internal beta version adds the “elderly care” function as well as a series of new features. The update log package 1 shows that in the setting auxiliary function, the “elderly care” function is now active. This feature will bring an additional setting that adds the extra-large font. Furthermore, there is a super-fast touch response which makes the system suitable for elders. Furthermore, all functions are centralized and managed in this function.

The update log package 2 shows that a series of new features greatly improve the user experience. The company recommends that you update as soon as possible.

This push is an internal beta version. You need to sign up for the HarmonyOS 2 new feature version internal beta activity. After being selected, you will receive an upgrade text message from Huawei, and you can select the system upgrade in Settings > System and Update > Software Update.
