Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, has been releasing the HarmonyOS 2 update for its smartphones. The company is now releasing a minor update of the HarmonyOS 2. The new update is HarmonyOS 18.104.22.168. A few days ago, the Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei Mate 30 started receiving this update. Now, the Huawei Mate 40 series is now receiving the HarmonyOS 22.214.171.124 (CO0E160R7P3) update. The update package size is about 365MB. According to feedback from netizens, the new version feels smoother, but it seems that there are still some bugs.
Huawei Mate 40 series HarmonyOS 126.96.36.199 update changelog
- Fixes the bug that prevents some application icons in the smart multi-window application bar from responding when clicked
- Incorporates security patches to enhance the security of the mobile phone system
After the ban on Huawei by the U.S., the company had serious restrictions with the Android system. This necessitated the need for Huawei to float its own operating system. Apparently, this system has been in development for several years before the U.S. ban thus it was not difficult for Huawei to release this system. So far, the company is doing well with its largest ever upgrade plan in its history. Most likely, HarmonyOS will be a force to reckon with in the coming years.

Huawei HarmonyOS adaptation progress so far
The Huawei P50 flagship smartphone is the first device to come with this update out of the box. The Chinese manufacturer officially released the HarmonyOS 2 for smartphones and other devices on June 2. However, within the first three months of its release, it is already a sensation.
In the first week, by June 9, we already had over 10 million HarmonyOS users. In two weeks, this operating system had over 18 million users. After a month of upgrade, HarmonyOS had over 25 million users. Before the end of July, this figure increased to over 40 million. In less than two months, as of early August, this operating system had over 50 million users. A new report shows that HarmonyOS 2 now has over 90 million users. It is obvious that this system will have well over 100 million users before the end of this year. This upgrade is Huawei’s largest system update in its history.
As of now, over 56 very old models from Huawei and Honor are already getting this update. Most of these devices wouldn’t have gotten any more major EMUI updates. According to Huawei, over 300 million devices (200 million Huawei devices and 100 million third-party devices) will have this update this year.
