Realme C31 launched with Unisoc chip and large display

Realme C31

Realme has just introduced another smartphone to its Realme C-series – the Realme C31. To those unaware, the Realme C-series stands with low-end budget devices, and the Realme C31 isn’t an exception to this legacy. The device had just made its official debut in Indonesia. It comes with a large display and a triple-rear camera setup. As usual in this lineup, the Realme C31 also packs a big battery. There are some shortcomings to make the price appealing, without further ado, let’s see what these devices have in tow for the market segment. After multiple teasers, the device is finally available.

Realme C31 specifications

The Realme C31 packs a fairly large 6.5-inch LCD screen with an HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz touch sampling rate and a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, the phone packs an Octa-Core Unisoc T612 processor made on a 12 nm manufacturing process. Hopefully, this chipset is free from the security flaws that affect another Unisoc chipset. Anyway, it comes with an integrated Mali-G57 GPU with up to 4 GB LPDDR4X RAm, and up to 64 GB UFS 2.2 storage.

In terms of optics, the Realme C31 packs a triple-rear camera setup and an LED flash. The primary sensor on the device is a 13 MP shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. The device also has a secondary macro lens and a B&W lens. Since Realme didn’t specify the resolution output of these snappers, we can just assume they’re simple 2 MP sensors. For selfies and video calls, the device relies on a 5 MP shooter.

Under the hood, the Realme handset draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 10 W charging. The device has a USB Type-C charging port. Furthermore, it comes with a dedicated micro SD card slot. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The handset comes with Realme UI R Edition. It’s based on Android 11. That probably is one of the major downsides of this handset.

Realme C31

The latest Realme C-series smartphone is available in two color options – Light Silver and Dark Green. The device measures 164.7 x 76.1 x 8.4 mm and weighs 197 grams. In terms of connectivity, the handset offers dual SIM, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Beidou, and Galileo.

Pricing and Availability

The Realme C31 comes in two memory configurations. There is one variant with just 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Internal Storage. The higher version comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of Internal Storage. The basic model costs around IDR 1,599,000 ($111). Whereas, the variant with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB Internal Storage costs IDR 1,649,000 ($115). Given the price difference, there’s no way to recommend the base model.

There is no word about a release in other markets. However, we believe it will make its way to India soon, although Realme India might be busy with the imminent GT 2 series release.
