Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Battery Improvement To Be Marketing Gimmick

Galaxy Z Flip 4

A couple of days ago, we heard that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 might sport a bigger battery. The information came our way from Galaxy Club. However, not everything is as simple as you might think.

Well, the information revealed by the source is saying that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 will feature a battery bigger than that of the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Similar info about the Galaxy Z Fold 4 had been spotted a week earlier. For both cases, the differences won’t be significant. Thus, will it be a marketing gimmick? Let’s figure it out.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Battery

Galaxy Club says that the alleged Galaxy Z Flip 4 (model number SM-F721) has been leaked packing two batteries. As you understand, one of them will be the basic power unit, while the second one will serve as a sub-battery. The capacity of the latter will be 2,400mAh and this is 100mAh bigger than the Galaxy Z Flip 3’s sub battery. At the same time, the main battery will come with a capacity of 903mAh. And this one will remain unchanged when compared with that of the previous model. In total, these two batteries will have a rated capacity of 3,300mAh, well, 3,400mAh if believing promotions. So can we call the 100mAh change a true improvement? If taking into account that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 will come with more powerful hardware, it’s assumable that the power consumption will be higher. So 100mAh battery capacity won’t have a considerable impact on endurance.

Other Features

However, this doesn’t mean that the upcoming Samsung flip phone won’t make improvements in other areas. When saying this, we mean it ought to come with a better chipset and an LTPO display. Especially, the latter will have a great impact on the battery life. (As you should know, LTPO displays consume less power due to the ability to switch between various screen rates.)

On the other hand, it’s quite reasonable to know why many users might focus on the battery of the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. Various authoritative media reported that the battery was the Achilles heel of the Galaxy Z Flip 3. On a single charge, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 could stay alive for barely a day. Also, the phone could run on the 120Hz mode for only four hours. But officially, it should work in that mode for up to 6 hours.

Well, we’ll get all answers in August.
