OnePlus & Boat Outsell Other Brands In The Neckband Segment In India

Leading brands recently started removing the headphone jack from their smartphones. So, there was a surge in demand for personal audio devices. This notable demand surge was witnessed in multiple regions including India.

The market is currently teeming with all sorts of audio devices. You can choose between TWS, neckbands, and headphones. Multiple brands have been releasing their affordable neckbands in India lately. These include popular brands like Realme, and OnePlus. Interestingly, these brands are primarily known for manufacturing smartphones. Also, OnePlus and Realme offer phones in India.

A new market report by Counterpoint Research has revealed India’s best-selling neckbands. Boat ranks first in the list. OnePlus and Realme find their place in the top three. As per the research, Boat has grabbed the top spot in Q1 2022. OnePlus has claimed the second spot. Notably, Realme has emerged as the third most popular brand. The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z Bass is the best-selling product in India. To recap, the original Bullets Wireless Z was launched in India back in 2020.

OnePlus & Boat Have Sold More Neckbands In India Than Other Brands

The Boat Rokerz 255 series is the second most selling audio accessory in India. Likewise, the Realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo takes the third spot. Boat has a notable market share of 25.7 percent, as per the report. However, the neckband earphones market in India has seen a decline this year. The report reveals that there was a 13 percent YoY decline in Q1 2022. OnePlus has a market share of 14.9 percent. Moreover, Realme’s share is 9.6 percent.

Notably, Boult Audio and Zebronics are among the top five brands. Zebronics has a market share of 4.2 percent. However, Boult Audio’s market share is just 3.6 percent. The decline in the neckband earphones market in India is a result of high inventory. As per the research, a lot of stock was available in Q4 2021. Moreover, these products arrived in the market before the festive season started. As a result, there was a notable drop in the market in Q1 2022.

What Makes These Brands So Popular In India?

Boat is more successful than the other brands. This is because it has more products in the lower price category. The brand’s best-selling model is the Rockerz 255 Pro Plus. OnePlus took the second spot due to the success of the Wireless Z- Bass Edition neckband. The Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition made its debut in October 2020. However, it is still a popular neckband in India. OnePlus is also prepping to bring the OnePlus Pad to India soon. The Rockerz 255 series has multiple models.

For instance, it includes the Boat Rockerz 255 neckband. Also, the series comprises the well-received Boat Rockerz 255 Neo. Realme launched the Buds Wireless 2 Neo in India in July last year. Also, all these products from OnePlus, Boat, and Realme retail for under INR 2,000. Brands sold a large number of neckbands in Q1 2022. About 70 percent carried price tags between INR 1,000 to INR 2,000.
