5G packages are sweeping through China – penetration rate hit 60%

5G base stations

Since the official commercialization of 5G networks, China has been on top of the rest of the world. In terms of the 5G package, China has one of the most affordable 5G packages worldwide. No wonder 5G packages from the three major carriers in China are sweeping through the Asian nation. The three major operators released the operating data for June 2022. So far, the operation of the three major operators in the first half of the year has been fully presented. According to the data, the operator’s operating data in June maintains a good development trend. The report reveals that there is a significant increase in the users of 5G packages. In addition, the 5G penetration rate hits a new peak in China. Taking China Telecom as an example, the penetration rate of its 5G package users now exceeds 60%.

Overall, for operators, the operating data for the entire first half of the year shows a trend of steady growth. While building the 5G network, the number of 5G package users is gradually increasing. Like China Telecom, the 5G penetration rate of other carriers also hit a new peak.

According to the June 2022 operating data released by China Mobile, the number of China Mobile Mobile customers increased by 3.252 million. The total number of users hits 969.85 million. In the same month, users of different 5G packages increase by 15.814 million, reaching a total of 510.943 million. The number of wireline broadband customers also increased by 2.499 million, reaching a total of 256.057 million.

All round increase of 5G packages users in China

The main operating data from China Telecom in June 2022 reveals that the number of China Telecom’s mobile subscribers increased by 3.07 million in the month. The total number of mobile subscribers is 384.22 million. Among them, the net increase of 5G package users was 7.18 million. Furthermore, the cumulative number of 5G package users is 231.65 million. In terms of wired broadband business, the number of China Telecom’s wired broadband subscribers increased by 720,000 in the month. In addition, the cumulative number of wired broadband subscribers was 175.44 million.

According to data officially released by China Unicom, users of its multiple 5G packages increased by 5.211 million in June. The company now has a new total of 184.9 million. Operators need to grasp the large-scale application of 5G

In the first half of the year, the three major operators seized the 5G construction and achieved remarkable achievements.Ā According to the person in charge of the Information and Communication Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology at a press conference of the State Council Information Office recently, a total of 1.854 million 5G base stations have been built and opened in China, of which nearly 300,000 new base stations were added in the second quarter.

In the second half of the year, the pace of 5G deployment by operators is accelerating. According to reports, China will deepen 5G co-construction and sharing, and strive to build 600,000 5G base stations throughout the year. Although China is clearly ahead of the rest of the world, it claims to be moderately advanced. However, the Chinese government reiterates that it will continue to increase the construction of 5G networks and gigabit fiber optic networks.

As we all know, China has made a historic breakthrough in the goal of 5G leadership. This leadership not only reflect in the scale of 5G network construction speed and the total number of 5G users but also deeply integrates into different scenarios of thousands of industries.

China’s 5G is still in development

In July this year, there were reports that the major target for the Chinese government is to promote the construction and use of 5G base stations. At present, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is advancing in-depth, and information technology is changing with each passing day. It is important to note that China’s 5G application is still in development as a whole. The construction process still faces many challenges. It will face the challenge of insufficient application scenarios, the need to stabilize the industrial foundation, and the need to strengthen the effect of financing.

There will also be a need to grasp the critical period of large-scale application and fully realize the enabling role of 5G in the development of the digital economy. In order to promote the construction and use of 5G, there is a need for more investments. The Chinese government is ensuring that it provides more finances and its also encouraging private individuals to invest.

Looking at the world, China now has a huge market and rich application scenarios. This not only constitutes the advantages of China’s 5G development but also puts forward higher requirements for 5G network capabilities and technological innovation. Under this background, it is even more necessary for operators to devise strategies to form a joint force in the upstream and downstream of the industry chain. This cooperation will eliminate industry barriers, carry out technical research, and accelerate the pace of 5G empowerment. With the development pace of 5G network in China, it is most likely that other nations will do same soon.
