Vivo recently took the wraps off the Vivo X90 series in international markets with the release of the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro. These devices are just fresh for the global markets, but when it comes to China, they are about to complete four months of availability. With that in mind, it seems that Vivo is already preparing for the next big thing that will come in the form of the Vivo X100 series. It’s usual for the lineup to get a refresh every six months, that said, the first details for the Vivo X100 are popping out. Today, we have some neat details about the Vivo X100 Pro+.
The Vivo X100 Pro+ will be the successor of the Vivo X90 Pro+ which is exclusive to the Chinese market. We expect the phone to launch towards June-July this year, but the first leaks are already popping out. To make things interesting, this leak revolves around the Vivo X100 Pro+ camera specs. Most avid fans of the Vivo X-series know that the focus is on the camera department.
Vivo X100 Pro+ camera specs have been tipped
There is a high appeal for the cameras on the Vivo X-series, and the upcoming flagship will keep this tradition. As per a new report by TechGoing that cites “Panda is Bald” tipster, the Vivo X100 Pro+ will bring innovative technologies. As per the leak, the Vivo X100 flagship will bring variable aperture. The feature will allow the user to adjust the aperture of the main camera to control the amount of light input. This technology was adopted by some brands a few years ago but did not pick up. Now, Vivo is bringing it back in a bid to make things different.
The Vivo X100 Pro+ will also bring an ultra-wide free-form surface lens. In theory, this will allow for wider and clearer shots. There will also be a new feature dubbed portrait micro-cloud platform. It’s a new set of algorithms that will work to produce high-quality portrait shots with extra clarity and rich details. Vivo introduced a set of interesting software features with the Vivo X90 series. We expect more to come and the brand will likely keep up partnering with ZEISS optics.
Gizchina News of the week
Vivo V3 ISP
More on the Vivo X100 Pro+ details, the leak points to the use of an enhanced zoom camera performance. The camera will have extra tweaks to improve in low-light conditions. If you’ve been impressed by the details of the X90 series, the next lineup will exceed your expectations. As per the leakster, the Vivo X100 series will serve to debut the new Vivo V3 ISP. It may also bring significant improvements to the camera department.
Apart from telling us the purpose and key aspects of each camera, the leak does not specify the sensors. Anyway, we expect Vivo to keep up with the use of a 1-inch camera for the main sensor. It could pretty much be the Sony IMX989.
Vivo X100 Pro+ should retain some of the X90 Pro+ specs
If we take the Vivo X90 Pro+ as a comparison, we expect the device to impress with compelling hardware. The last year’s model packs a 50 MP Sony IMX989 1″ camera, a 48 MP Sony IMX589 ultrawide, a 50 MP Sony IMX758 portrait sensor, and a 64 MP OmniVision OV64B40 telephoto camera with up to 100x digital zoom. The handset packs a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution. We don’t expect the X100 Pro+ to take major departures in these specs. One notable difference will be the chipset. The new flagship will likely stick with the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The last year’s model has a 4,700 mAh battery with 80W charging and 50W wireless charging.
We don’t know if this Vivo X100 Pro+ will reach international markets. But we are sure that a regular Vivo X100 and an X100 Pro will tag alongside. For now, Vivo is expected to launch a new set of foldable smartphones, the Vivo X Fold2 and the X Flip are set to appear in this month.
