Vivo V29 Pro teased with OLED display and 50 MP selfie camera

Vivo V29 Pro

Vivo brought the Vivo V27 series to global markets in early March and now seems to be ready to introduce its next big thing for this lineup. Today, Vivo suddenly teased the Vivo V29 Pro, which serves as a direct sequel to the Vivo V27 Pro. The company seems to be jumping a V28 series in favor of a Vivo V29 series, but this is not the most surprising fact. The real surprise is to see that the Vivo V29 Pro is teased as “coming soon” just two months after the launch of its predecessor.

Vivo V29 Pro is coming soon

The teaser was shared by Vivo Philippines which set up a teaser page for the Vivo V29 as “coming soon”. It’s not just a standard cryptic teaser, the page also reveals some of the smartphone’s most relevant specs. These include the display and camera details. This teaser coincides with the launch of the Vivo S17 series. The Vivo S17 and S17 Pro will be launched in China on June 1. We won’t be surprised to see if any of the Vivo S17 series phones turn out to be the Vivo V29 Pro globally.

Vivo V27 Pro

The teaser page confirms the Vivo V29 Pro with a 6.7-inch 1080p curved OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. On the rear, the phone will bring “a 64-Megapixel triple rear camera solution”. The meaning of this is rather vague, does it mean three 64-Megapixel cameras? We will need to wait for further clarification, but we believe that at least the main camera will offer such resolution plus OIS. The phone will also bring a 50 MP main front-facing camera. The device will bring a 5,000 mAh battery with 66W fast charging. Finally, it will have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. The processor is still a mystery.

For comparison, the Vivo V27 Pro brings the very same curved display with the same resolution and refresh rate. However, the phone differs on the camera with a 50 MP main camera, 8 MP ultrawide shooter, and 2 MP macro sensor. It has the same 66W fast-charging but its battery is smaller with 4,600 mAh capacity. The phone brings the decent MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. The Vivo V29 Pro will probably get a different chipset.

We will need to wait until Vivo decides to disclose more details on the Vivo V29 Pro.
