Instagram AI chatbot is in the works – a new companion is coming

Instagram

Instagram is reportedly developing an AI chatbot that will give users free advice and help them write more effective messages. The chatbot will be available within any chat thread, and users will be able to ask questions and receive advice in-stream. The AI chatbot will be similar to Snapchat’s My AI tool and will incorporate AI responses into a discussion, adding another element to Instagram DMs.

Instagram’s AI chat option

Instagram is at present working on an AI chatbot, which was found by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi. Paluzzi often shares updates about the app on social media. The screenshots show that Instagram’s AI chatbot will respond to your inquiries and offer ideas as well.

Instagram is working on a new AI chatbot, an option that could be a companion for users. Users will be able to ask questions of an AI system within any chat thread. By typing “@ai” into the chat field, users will be diverted to the AI chatbot, which will be available to answer questions at any time. The chatbot will be able to give users advice on how to write more effective messages.

Instagram also wants you to “find the best way to express yourself and get help writing messages”. Thus, it is likely that you may receive tips on how to use Instagram. It’s still unclear whether Instagram will release this feature when it’s ready. However, given that Instagram is quite innovative and has a history of taking design cues from other apps, it is highly likely that the AI chatbot will be included in the app. Benefits of Instagram Chatbots

How will Instagram Chatbot work?

While we don’t yet know all of the details, we expect Instagram’s AI chatbot to work just like Snapchat’s My AI. Users of Snapchat may chat with and ask questions to this AI chatbot. My AI, which was built using OpenAI’s GPT tech, can also give tips from Snap Map, suggest proper lenses, advise weekend activities, and more.

However, such tools come with their issues. 91mobile reported that Snapchat’s My AI advised a teenager on how to cover up the scent of booze and marijuana. For this reason, it had some issues to deal with.

Instagram is also working on a text-based app that could replace Twitter in addition to the AI chatbot. While it will be a different app, it will link with your Instagram account to pull all of your content and data. This app should also go up this month. There are currently no rumours regarding the release date of the AI chatbot.
