During the event in China, Honor did not only unveil the Magic V2 foldable phone but also introduced two other devices. The company introduces the MagicPad 13, a premium tablet, and the Magic Watch 4, an eSIM smartwatch.

The MagicPad 13 is Honor’s first tablet powered by MagicOS 7.2, which brings Honor’s new mobile office experience. The tablet comes with Honor Docs. This is a word processor app for creating and editing documents, as well as Honor Notes, a dedicated app for taking notes. These features aim to enhance productivity and provide users with a seamless mobile office experience on the tablet.

The MagicPad 13 is available in three color options: Sky Blue, Star Gray, and Moonlight, which is a beige-like color. The standout feature of the tablet is its 13-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2880 x 1840 pixels. The display offers a variable refresh rate that can switch between different rates. It includes 30Hz, 48Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz, allowing for smooth visuals based on the content being viewed. The touch-sampling rate of the display is up to 240Hz, which helps in providing responsive touch interactions.

The display of the MagicPad 13 is HDR10-ready and supports 1.07 billion colors, covering the DCI-P3 color gamut. Honor claims that the panel has a color accuracy of below ∆E<1 and a peak brightness of 700 nits. Honor also mentions that the display is IMAX-enhanced, suggesting optimized visual performance for an immersive viewing experience.

The MagicPad 13 offers an immersive audio experience with a total of 8 speakers and 4 microphones. Honor claims that this setup provides the industry’s first 3D spatial audio without the need for headphones, delivering a rich and expansive sound experience.

To complement the MagicPad 13, Honor has designed the Magic Pencil 3 specifically for this tablet. The stylus features a skin-friendly coating and a matte texture, for comfortable grip. It offers 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, allowing for precise and natural input. With a latency of just 2ms, the Magic Pencil 3 ensures minimal delay between the stylus movement and the corresponding action on the screen.

Using the Honor Magic Pencil with the MagicPad 13, users can highlight objects and text. It also allows to perform functions like copy, cut, and paste across different apps. Additionally, the stylus allows users to pick colors from anywhere in the user interface, which is particularly useful for design applications and artistic endeavors.

Chipset and Storage Options

The MagicPad 13 comes with a powerful Snapdragon 888 chipset, offering high-performance capabilities. It is available with three RAM options: 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB, providing ample memory for smooth multitasking and efficient operation. This power is effectively utilized to support HDR video editing directly on the tablet. With this, users can enhance and edit HDR videos without the need for additional devices. The Magic Pencil 3 stylus proves particularly useful in this scenario as well, offering precise input for editing purposes.

The tablet features a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, which provides convenient connectivity options. This port can be used for attaching external storage devices, allowing for easy file transfer and expanded storage capacity. Additionally, the USB port supports 4K video output at 60 frames per second (fps) to an external monitor, enabling users to enjoy high-resolution content on a larger display.

Moving on to the Honor Magic Watch 4, it is Honor’s first smart wearable with MagicOS on board. The watch boasts a 1.75-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 450 x 390 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The display is housed within a 6 series aluminum case, making it more durable and giving it a premium feel.

One of the standout features of the Magic Watch 4 is its eSIM support, which enables the watch to function independently from a paired smartphone. This allows users to make calls, send messages, and access online services directly from the smartwatch, without the need for a smartphone connection.

The Honor Magic Watch 4, with its smart dual standby feature, offers an impressive battery life. It can last for up to 10 days of use while still keeping notifications active. The Honor Magic Watch 4 offers extensive fitness tracking capabilities with support for 85 sports modes and 12 professional workouts. It can accurately monitor various activities and provide useful data for users’ fitness journeys. Additionally, the watch provides health screenings for atrial fibrillation and sleep apnea, along with general sleep tracking functionality.

The Honor Magic Watch 4 is currently available for purchase at a price of CNY 999 (€125), with an early bird discount of CNY 50. Customers have a choice between three color options: Black, Gold, and Blue.

On the other hand, the Honor MagicPad 13 is currently open for pre-orders and will be available for general sale starting on July 20. The tablet is priced at CNY 2,999 (€376, INR 34,300) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is selling for CNY 3,299 (€415, INR 37,700) The highest end model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model is also selling for CNY 3,699 (€465, INR 42,300). There are additional accessories available, including a folding keyboard accessory priced at CNY 599 and the Magic Pencil 3 priced at CNY 499.
