OnePlus Open: The Brand’s First Foldable To Launch on August 29

The insider Max Jambor and Smartprix confirmed the launch date. In a month and a half, we will finally see the handset in all its glory.

The OnePlus Open will be unveiled in a big event centered in New York with an online broadcast. OnePlus will continue its push into the United States by offering its very first foldable in the market. With that, the OnePlus Open will offer some competition for Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup in Uncle Sam. It is worth noting, that the OnePlus Open will be globally available, and will join the growing foldable smartphone market.

The OnePlus Open will pack a 6.3-inch outer AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. The inner display features a 7.8-inch diagonal with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the foldable phone will bring the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of Internal Storage.

In terms of optics, the OnePlus Open will be equipped with a 50 MP IMX890 main sensor. Further, it will bring a 48 MP IMX581 ultrawide snapper and a 64 MP telephoto shooter with periscope zoom capabilities. The OnePlus Open will draw its power from a large 4,800 mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The foldable will run OxygenOS 13 with special tweaks for the foldable display. In fact, the unique software experience that OnePlus provides with OxygenOS should be one of these devices’ main selling points against the competition.
