The Chinese tech firm Huawei has tried to keep its business running irrespective of the numerous setbacks in recent years. Despite facing strict sanctions from the United States and its allies, Huawei continues to strengthen its position. The company has recently launched the controversial Mate 60 smartphone and the Mate X5 foldable. Aside these two, Huawei has also introduced a special tablet called the Huawei MatePad 11 Papermatte Edition. This new tablet features a couple of special features that are worth discussing.

On September 14th, Huawei conducted a global product presentation. During the event, they unveiled several intriguing new products, including an updated version of the MatePad 11.5 tablet.

The device features a unique PaperMatte screen with a special coating. This coating provides a paper-like feel, minimizes glare, reduces eye strain, and enables a more natural writing experience when using the second-generation M-Pencil stylus.

Other specifications remain unchanged from the regular MatePad 11.5 version. The device features an 11.5-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a resolution of 2200×1440 pixels, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip and has a slim 6.85 mm body with two cameras. The tablet offers a PC mode and comes with pre-installed WPS Office applications. The MatePad 11.5 also features a large 7,700mAh battery supporting 22.5W charging. It runs on the HarmonyOS 3.1 operating system out of the box.
