Just recently, Samsung silently debuted the Galaxy Tab A9 in Guatemala and UAE. The official press release published at the silent launch also hinted at a higher-end Tab A9+, but it didn’t give any details regarding the specs and pricing of the tablet.

Now, both the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+ became official in India. And with this launch, we got to learn more about the A9+ and a better look at the affordable Tab A9.

As I’ve covered recently, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 is a decent pad for the money. It comes with an 8.7-inch LCD screen on the front. The resolution of the screen is 1340 x 800 pixels, and it features a 60Hz refresh rate. Also, the front comes with a 2MP camera for all your selfie and video calling needs.

And on the back, you will find an 8MP shooter with autofocus. Besides, Samsung has integrated dual-speaker setup on the Galaxy Tab A9, and it features Dolby Atmos. Thanks to this, you are pretty much set to enjoy a rich and surround audio experience from the tablet.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab A9 comes with Helio G99 chipset. It’s an entry-level SoC from MediaTek that can handle most day-to-day apps and less resource-intensive games just fine. Samsung paired this chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

There’s also a dedicated microSD card on the Galaxy Tab A9, which will let you expand the internal storage. And as the tablet has a 5100mAh battery inside, you can expect a decent runtime after a full charging session.

Other highlights of the tablet include eSIM with a physical SIM card slot, GPS, WiFi 5, USB-C with 15W fast charging, and Bluetooth 5.0.

Samsung took the A9 series up a notch with the Galaxy Tab A9+. It features an 11-inch LCD panel on the front with a 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution. Unlike the A9, the screen of the A9+ has high refresh rate support. To be exact, it can run at 90Hz, letting you enjoy smooth and fluid animations on the screen.

The higher refresh rate will also make gaming on the tablet much more enjoyable. And talking of which, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ boasts a Snapdragon 695 SoC, which is a good mid-range chipset with enough horsepower to handle most of the apps and games without issues.

Other than that, you can get the Galaxy Tab A9+ with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. And like the regular Tab A9, the A9+ features a microSD card slot, letting you further expand the storage.

Another good thing about the Galaxy Tab A9+ is that it comes with a quad-speaker setup. And it’s AKG-tuned, allowing you to get the most out of the audio content you play on the tablet.

Besides, the tablet comes with a large 7040mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. And in terms of the camera setup, there’s a 5MP selfie shooter on the front and 8MP on the back. Other highlights include Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 5, eSIM support, and 5G connectivity.

Pricing Information

There are multiple variants available for the Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+. The base Tab A9, with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and WiFi-only connectivity, goes for around $156. On the other hand, the 4G + WiFi version is around $168.

Moving on, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ with WiFi-only connectivity, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB storage goes for around $252, while the 5G version starts at $276. Both models are available for pre-order on the Amazon India website.
