According to the most recent Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) report, iOS held a 39% slice of the pie when it comes to American smartphone users over the past year. A medley of factors influences these patterns. But since there’s minimal migration between iOS and Android, the market shares have remained relatively stable. In the early days of the smartphone revolution, Apple expanded its reach as the iPhone became available on more carriers, moving beyond its exclusive partnership with AT&T.
