OnePlus 12 Confirmed to Feature Sony LYT-T808 As Main Camera

Two days ago, OnePlus held an event in China. In this event, OnePlus showcased the camera capabilities of the upcoming OnePlus 12. The brand promised that it would surpass the competitors’ Pro models. Alongside that, OnePlus confirmed the camera configuration of the device.

As we’ve covered earlier, OnePlus recently announced its partnership with Sony. Through this, OnePlus wanted to equip the OnePlus 12 with a powerful camera sensor. And that sensor happens to be a Sony LYT-T808. This sensor’s power is only second to Sony IMX989. And the Sony IMX989 is the current flagship offering from Sony.

More About the Camera Configuration of OnePlus 12

As some may have realized by now, the Sony LYT-T808 is the same sensor found in the OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3. And the OnePlus Open is the best camera smartphone OnePlus has released. But the brand plans to push the sensor even further on the OnePlus 12.

At the core, the Sony LYT-T808 is a 50MP sensor. It has a 1/1.4-inch sensor size. Also, it boasts double-layer transistor pixel technology. This tech will give the sensor more information even in challenging lighting conditions.

OnePlus 12 telephoto

As for the telephoto camera, OnePlus confirmed that it will use the OmniVision OV64B. It’s a 64MP sensor that can offer 3x optical zoom.

The company has been silent about the ultrawide camera of the phone. But the OnePlus 12 will likely use a Sony IMX581. It is a 48MP sensor.

Moreover, the OnePlus 12 will feature the all-new HyperTone camera system. Hasselblad and Oppo recently announced it. This system will offer a stellar photography experience. It will provide better noise reduction, realistic portrait shots, and increased clarity.

Among the other known specs, there’s the SoC. The OnePlus 12 will feature the recently released Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Also, it will come with a brand-new BOE display. OnePlus said that the panel would feature an unparalleled brightness rating.
