MediaTek recently announced the Dimensity 9300 just a few days ago. Positioned as the competitor of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it brings a lot of improvements over its predecessor. And the upcoming Oppo Find X7 will be among the first devices that will debut packing this chipset.

Now, while devices featuring the Dimensity 9300 haven’t landed yet, AnTuTu has officially revealed the benchmark scores of the Oppo Find X7. The device boasting the flagship MediaTek chipset has achieved 2,270,677 on the benchmarking tool. For context, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 got 2,139,281 on the same tool.

With this, the Dimensity 9300 becomes the current champion in the AnTuTu benchmarking tool. And as the scores suggest, the MediaTek chipset is a better performer than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This should lead to the Oppo Find X7 offering a little bit improved raw performance than 8 Gen 3 devices.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300

As for how the Dimensity 9300 got better scores than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, I believe it’s likely for the CPU configuration. As I’ve previously covered, the Dimensity 9300 has four Cortex-X4 and four Cortex-A720 cores. Unlike the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it has no low-power efficiency cores.

This can naturally raise questions regarding whether the battery life of Oppo Find X7 and other devices is powered by the chipset. But as MediaTek explained, the A720 cores inside the Dimensity 9300 are more efficient than the low-power Cortex-A520 cores. It will be interesting to see how the device fair up in a battery test.
